40-Day Fast
March 5 (Ash Wednesday) to April 19 (the day before Easter)
The 40-Day Fast is a period when we purposefully skip a meal, a food item, a beverage, or an activity that, if we skip it, will remind us to pray and read the Bible. The fast is meant to awaken our hunger for God and help us be more sensitive to His leading and guidance about various aspects of our lives. Fasting is also a way of disconnecting from the distractions of daily life, and making a conscious choice to bring the Lord into greater focus.
Pick one thing that you will significantly limit or completely do without for this six-week period. Pick something you turn to often – a food item, an activity, a device. Every time you want to turn to that thing, ask God this question:
"Lord, what new step do You want me to take with You and at least one other person?"
Make time to listen, and do what the Lord says.
Join us on the 40-Day Fast as we prepare our hearts for the Easter season.
