Deacons are ordained covenant partners (members) of First Prez, elected by the congregation to a ministry of caring for those in need in our church ‘ohana.

Newcomers Team
Our Newcomers Team helps you feel at home at First Prez. They support our church staff who will guide you through our church’s values and mission, and help you take the next step toward becoming a covenant partner. Whether you're curious about faith or ready to get involved, this team will connect you to others and deepen your experience in our community.
Visitation Team
If you or a loved one can no longer attend worship services or church activities in person, our Visitation Team is here to keep you connected. They offer friendship, encouragement, and spiritual support by writing cards, making phone calls, or even just praying with and for you. Please contact us if you’d like to schedule a visitation.
Helping Hands Team
When life gets tough, the Helping Hands Team steps in with practical support. If you need transportation to a medical appointment, meals during an emergency, or help with home care, we’re here to lend a hand. Our Deacons offer short-term, focused assistance to make sure you’re cared for during challenging times.
Memorial Service Team
During the difficult time of losing a loved one, our Memorial Service Team offers compassion and practical support. We assist families of our covenant partners and provide guidance, care and a comforting presence.

Good Samaritan
Fund
The Good Samaritan Fund, overseen by the deacons, provides financial assistance to individuals and families facing unexpected hardships. Whether it’s helping with bills, groceries, or emergency needs, the fund is a practical way for our church to care for those in crisis. Rooted in compassion and confidentiality, this support reflects our commitment to loving our neighbors as Christ calls us to.
